A ten-year-old girl was found murdered in her house at Kukatpally on Monday (August 18) afternoon while her parents were at work.
K. Suresh Kumar, DCP, Balanagar said that the victim, a class six student, was alone at home while her parents, B. Krishna and Renuka, were away at work. Her younger brother was in school, while she had stayed back as the school had declared a week-long holiday.
“At around 1 p.m., her father returned to collect tiffin for his son and found the main door bolted shut from outside. On opening it, he discovered his daughter dead in a pool of blood with stab injuries. The weapon used in the crime is yet to be traced,” said the DCP.
The officer also confirmed that there were no signs of robbery or sexual assault. “The family has not raised suspicion against anyone so far. A clues team examined the house and collected evidence. The girl’s body was shifted to the mortuary for post-mortem,” added the officer.
The Kukatpally police booked a case. Special teams have been formed to identify and arrest the assailant.
