The Special POCSO Court in Guntur sentenced Maddasani Surendra, a resident of Vallabharavupalem, to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹10,000 in connection with a child sexual assault case registered in 2014. Judge Shammi Parveen Sultana Begum delivered the verdict under Section 235(2) CrPC, following extensive examination of evidence and witness testimonies, on Monday, informed Guntur Superintendent of Police (SP) Satish Kumar, in a press release.
The incident occurred on July 4, 2014, when the accused lured a 13-year-old girl to a terrace and committed the offence. The victim’s grandmother filed a complaint at Ponnur Rural police station. A case was registered under IPC Section 376(ii) and Section 6 of the POCSO Act.
