Telangana to Honour Weavers, Showcase Textile Heritage on National Handloom Day

– Nethanna Bhadratha scheme: Provides ₹5 lakh to families of deceased weavers. ₹3.75 crore was allocated last year; a total of ₹15 crore allocated for this fiscal year.
– Loan waiver for Weavers: A loan waiver for up to ₹1 lakh per person is in progress with a budget of ₹33 crore (for loans taken between April 2017-March 2024).
– Nethannaku Barosa scheme: Provides wage support of up to ₹18k/year for weavers & ₹6k for ancillary workers; currently allotted ₹12.20 crores this financial year.
– Pavala Vaddi scheme: Reduces interest burdens on cooperative societies; benefitted about 60 societies at a cost of nearly ₹1.09 crores last year.
