As the inflow into Hogenakkal increased to 18,000 cusecs on Friday evening, the district administration has issued a ban on bathing in the Cauvery in Hogenakkal, while coracle operations will be unhindered.
The inflow into Hogenakkal was 10,000 cusecs on Friday morning, and gradually increased to 18,000 cusecs as of 6 p.m. With the increase in water release from Kabini and KRS reservoirs in Karnataka, the inflow into Hogenakkal increased steadily.
