Two persons were killed in a road accident involving a high-end motorcycle in the wee hours of Sunday on Nelson Mandela Road in Bannimantap in Mysuru.

The mishap took place when the motorcycle, driven by Syed Sharan Jabbar, 28, a native of Chamarajanagar, hit Karthik, a food-delivery agent aged around 42, when he was on his way to a customer on his two-wheeler at around 2.30 am on Sunday.

Police said that Jabbar had booked a room in a hotel on Nelson Mandela road, where he was staying with his friends. The incident took place near the main gate of Bal Bhavan in Bannimantap due to “over-speeding” by Jabbar, added the police.

Jabbar’s motorcycle skidded for several metres before catching fire. Due to the impact of the collision, both the him as well as the food-delivery agent were killed.
