Kerala is close to achieving self-sufficiency in milk production, Minister for Animal Husbandry J. Chinchurani has said.
Speaking after laying the foundation stone for the new building of the veterinary hospital in Vallikunnam grama panchayat in Alappuzha on Saturday, the Minister said that domestic milk production in the State had increased significantly.
“The government is implementing various schemes to attract more people to the dairy sector. Special dairy development schemes have also been introduced for workers in the coir, plantation, and fisheries sectors,” Ms. Chinchurani said.
