Six persons involved in the production and trade of illicit liquor were arrested during a series of raids conducted in Maripeda mandal of Mahabubabad district by officials of the State Task Force (STF) under the Telangana Excise and Prohibition Department on Monday.
Raids were carried out in Bothala, Thopla, Amudalagadda, Jandala and Mula Marri. The officials seized 33 litres of ID liquor, 600 litres of fermented jaggery wash, 150 kilograms of black jaggery, 10 kilograms of alum, and one mobile phone from the locations. Six cases were booked in connection with the illegal brewing activity. The arrested persons, along with the seized material, have been handed over to the Thorrur police for further investigation.
