Arun Yogiraj, sculptor from Mysuru and creator of the Rama idol in Ayodhya, has been entrusted with the task of sculpting statues of Maharshi Valmiki, Bhagiratha Maharshi, and Kanakadasa on the district administrative complex premises in Chamarajanagar.
In recognition of his contributions, district in-charge Minister K. Venkatesh felicitated Mr. Yogiraj on Monday at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, marking the formal launch of the statue-sculpting project.
Deputy Commissioner Shilpa Nag, Zilla Panchayat CEO Mona Roth, Superintendent of Police B.T. Kavitha, Additional Deputy Commissioner T. Javare Gowda, and Assistant Director of Kannada and Culture Department Nanjundaiah were present.
It may be mentioned that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah recently laid the foundation stone for for the installation of these statues at the complex.
