Police hunt for motorist who injured officer in wrong-way collision in Goregaon east

Mumbai: Dindoshi Police are looking for a motorist who rammed his car into a policeman while driving in the wrong direction at Goregaon East recently. An FIR has been registered at the Dindoshi Police station against the unidentified motorist. The injured officer, sub-inspector Sankhe, is stable.
A nakabandi was set up between 11 pm on March 18 and the early hours of March 19 near Lucky restaurant on a bridge at Goregaon East. Between 1.30 am and 2 am, the police team noticed a motorist driving in the wrong direction. They gestured at him to halt. The motorist started to flee and hit sub-inspector Sankhe in the process. He was taken to a doctor and administered treatment.
Police are checking CCTV footage for more information on the make and registration number of the vehicle. The FIR has been registered under provisions of Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita and Motor Vehicles Act.
