the ministry of Education has approved seven new departments/programmes at the Central University of Karnataka (CUK), including:
– Masters in Library and Information Science
– M.Sc Statistics and Data Analytics
– Five-year integrated Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws
– B.Tech Computer Science Engineering
– M.Tech Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
– M.Sc Genetics and Genomics, along with restructuring life sciences into Plant Science & Animal Science.
– ₹16 crore for research activities this year.
– ₹11.5 crore under Anusadhan NRF’s PAIR program.
– Dedicated grants for Chemistry (₹1.67 crore), Visvesvaraya PhD programme (₹3 crore), scientific infrastructure establishment, and model self-sustained ecosystem development through CSR (₹1.21 crore).
– Teaching: Increased strength to 175; but still facing shortages with vacancies totaling around 35 posts.
