After Manchester Disappointment, England Add CSK Star To Their Squad, Eye Revival In Final Test At Oval

England have added all-rounder Jamie Overton to the squad for the final and 5th Test match at the Oval. India pulled off a brilliant draw courtesy of some brilliant batting heroics from Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar. With the series currently at 2-1, all the eyes will be on the final Test match as India will have the opportunity to restore parity at the Oval.

England edged towards a certain victory as they piled up a mammoth 669 runs in the 1st inning, registering a healthy lead over their opponent. But India foiled their plans with an immaculate batting display in the 2nd innings. Captain Ben Stokes earlier hinted that they might need fresh legs in the last Test match. England bowlers toiled hard by pushing themselves to the brink and bowled more than 250 overs in the match.

Jamie Overton could replace Brydon Carse who is the second English bowler to bowl more than 150 overs in the series. It remains to be seen whether Jofra Archer will feature in his third straight Test match, as he just returned from a long injury layoff. Gus Atkinson has also proved his fitness and the fast bowler could be unleashed in the 5th and final Test match.

For India, Narayan Jagadeesan has been named as Rishabh Pant’s replacement after the Indian vice-captain fractured his right foot during the 1st inning.
