Bengaluru: A day after a 10-year-old boy, who came into contact with a live wire, died in KR Puram, his mother filed a police complaint against the house owner and officials from KPTCL, Bescom, and BBMP for negligence.
Anant, a resident of Muneshwara Block in Ayyappanagar, sustained severe injuries after a broom he tossed up in the air touched the wire on June 16. He was playing outside the house on the third floor of the residential building. He was shifted to the burns ward of Victoria Hospital where he succumbed to injuries on Friday. His mother, Tuladevi, stated that the third floor where they lived was an illegal construction. “For the greed of rent, house owner Balaraju illegally constructed additional floors. The high-tension wires passed just four feet away from the houses. Balaraju did not bother to take precautionary measures. Also, officials from KPTCL and Bescom, who should have taken precautionary steps to safeguard the public from these high-tension wires, failed in their duty.
BBMP should have acted against the illegal floors,” the complaint read.KR Pura police have booked the suspects under section 106 (Causing death by negligence) of BNS.
