Hyderabad District Collector Hari Chandana Dasari has directed medical officers to prepare comprehensive plans for strengthening infrastructure and basic amenities at Gandhi Hospital and Osmania General Hospital, two of Telangana’s largest public healthcare institutions.

Chairing a review meeting of the Medical Colleges Monitoring Committee (MCMC) on Monday, the Collector discussed the current status of facilities, staffing, and infrastructure at the hospitals with senior medical officers, administrators, and teaching faculty from both institutions.

Among the key concerns raised during the meeting were persistent water supply issues at Gandhi Hospital, shortage of teaching and non-teaching staff, and gaps in sanitation and maintenance services. Stressing the need to bridge faculty gaps in medical colleges, she directed that teaching staff positions be filled through outsourcing as per government norms. Similar instructions were issued regarding the recruitment of sanitation and other non-teaching staff, with a strict timeline to complete the process.
