The Kadugodi police have arrested a 24-year-old youth for filming his neighbour and her daughter, while they were taking a bath in their house in Channasandra on Tuesday.
Based on a complaint filed by the husband of the victim, the accused — Khaja Moihiddin K. C. — an electrician by profession, was arrested.
According to the police, the accused noticed the woman, 29, bathing her nine-year-old daughter inside the bathroom of her house on Tuesday morning. The accused sneaked in from backside of the building, and started filming the act on his mobile phone through an open window. The victim sensed an unusual movement outside and raised an alarm, following which, the accused escaped.
Acting on the complaint, the police reached the spot, and checked the footage from CCTV cameras in and around the place to identify the accused.
By the time the police reached the accused’s house, he had deleted the video.
However, the police arrested the accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 and also under section 77 (offense of voyeurism) of BNS, 2023, for further investigation.
