A 26-year-old woman was murdered by her husband at the Government Hospital at Kulithalai at the early hours on Sunday (July 20, 2025).
According to police, R. Vishruth, a driver and resident of Kulithalai, had a heated argument with his wife Shruthi (26) last night. He allegedly stabbed her, thereby causing injuries. On learning this, Ramasamy, a retired Deputy Superintendent of Police of the Central Reserve Police Force, and a few other neighbours rushed Shruthi to the Government Hospital in Kulithalai.
After examinations, she was admitted to the emergency ward. A few hours later, Vishruth visited the hospital and stabbed her thrice and escaped. She died on the spot. Her body was sent to the Government Medical College Hospital in Karur for postmortem. A family dispute was said to be the reason for the murder.
The Karur police have registered a case and are investigating.
