Nearly 25 people sustained injuries after two KSRTC buses collided near Neyyar Dam on Sunday.

The accident occurred around 8 a.m. when a fast passenger bus headed to Neyyar Dam from Kattakada collided with an ‘Ordinary’ service bus proceeding to Thiruvananthapuram from Amboori.

The driver of one of the buses, Vijayakumar, was trapped inside the bus for nearly two hours. It took around two hours for Kerala Fire and Rescue Services personnel to rescue him by cutting through the metal roads that trapped his leg. Five fire force teams from the Chengalchoola, Kattakada and Neyyar Dam stations were deployed to the scene.
