– Three Pakistani terrorists were killed in an intense firefight near Harwan, close to Dachigam in Jammu & Kashmir, under “Operation Mahadev.”
– The operation was conducted jointly by the Army and Jammu & Kashmir Police early Monday morning.
– Authorities recovered weapons including an M4 carbine, two AK-47 rifles, and 17 grenades during the operation.
– Hashim Musa (alias Suleman Musa), identified as a mastermind behind the April 22 Pahalgam attack that claimed 26 lives, was among those neutralised. He was linked to Pakistan’s Para forces and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
– Intelligence suggested movement of militants toward Dachigam over recent weeks. Security teams acted on critical inputs when launching anti-militancy operations in Mulnar area of Harwan.
– Officials are working to verify the affiliation of all three eliminated suspects and their connection to prior attacks.
– The successful encounter is seen as a major achievement by Indian security forces.
