In view of the Moolam boat race on the Pampa river at Champakulam on July 9, the Ports department has imposed strict restrictions on the movement of speedboats along the stretch of the river from Mappilassery Kadavu to the finishing point. As many as 11 boats, including five snakeboats, will compete in the Moolam race. Races will be held under snakeboat, veppu ‘A’ and veppu ‘B’ grade categories.
